ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å offers several programs leading to professional licensure within the state of Florida and is committed to providing accurate information to all students to aid in career planning. States vary in what professions they require to be licensed and how licensure is obtained. Some states require an individual to graduate from an accredited or approved program. Other states may require an individual to complete additional coursework, fieldwork or training, as well as successful completion of a state licensing exam.
Accreditation
ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters and doctorate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500 or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website ().
State Authorization
ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å participates in theÌý, which allows us to provide distance learning programs and coursework to residents of states other than Florida. NC-SARA participation does not grant reciprocity or exempt us from state professional licensing requirements. Therefore, licensing requirements in Florida may not be recognized as sufficient to obtain a license in another state.
Relocation
Relocation of a student to another state during the course of a program may impact the student’s ability to remain in the program, meet the state licensure requirements and/or continue to receive financial aid funding. Prior to considering relocation, please contact your academic advisor to discuss authorization and licensure eligibility requirements.Ìý
International Students
Prior to enrolling in any program at ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å, prospective students living and/or working outside of the United States should confirm with the appropriate certifying agency whether successful completion of any degree program at ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å will meet the credentialing requirements of the country in which they intend to seek employment, as to certain types of employment or for advanced/specialized educational programs.
Student Responsibility
Students should review the specific academic requirements for the program in which they are enrolling, including those related to practicum/internship, as well as pre-qualifications for licensure. It is the responsibility of the student completing the licensure program to check with the licensing board(s) in their state of residence or in the state in which they intend to obtain a license for the most recent information and requirements. Many licensure boards have additional requirements beyond successful degree completion to obtain a license. Please be advised that state laws, regulations and policies may change at any time.
ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å shall not be held liable if the student is unable to qualify for licensure or certification in any jurisdiction or cannot obtain a practicum/internship location.
ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Programs Customarily Leading to Licensure
Accounting
The licensure boards in each state establish the requirements for licensure/certification for their state. We strongly encourage students and prospective students to contact the licensing body in the state where they plan to practice for information about licensure and certification requirements. ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å cannot guarantee whether the curriculum meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification for any other states besides Florida.
The graduate program curriculum meets the state of Florida's educational requirements for licensure and certification. All ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å B.S. In accounting majors who meet the matriculation requirement can apply for the master's in accounting program. Non-ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å undergraduates must have an undergraduate degree in accounting and/or have completed all prerequisite courses: Intermediate Accounting I, Intermediate Accounting II, Cost Accounting, Taxation I, Auditing and Attestation, Accounting Information Systems and Business Law and Social Responsibility.
The undergraduate accounting program curriculum at ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å does not meet the state of Florida's educational requirements for licensure or certification, since a B.S. in Accounting from ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å requires only 24 hours of upper-division accounting. To meet the state's licensure and certification requirements, applicants can either complete the M.S. in accounting program, or otherwise complete six additional semester hours in upper-division accounting and at least five hours of upper-division business courses (upper-division accounting courses in excess of 30 hours count toward the upper-division business course hours requirement) to fulfill the 150 semester credit hours requirement.

Bachelor of Science In Athletic Training
ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å is committed to providing accurate information to all students to aid In career planning. The ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å program in athletic training prepares students to practice in a field with professional licensure or certification available. However, specific licensure and certification requirements can vary by state.
Currently, 49 states and the District of Columbia regulate the practice of athletic training.
Individuals must be legally recognized by the appropriate state or district regulatory agency prior to practicing athletic training. The Board of Certification (BOC) examination is recognized by all athletic trainer regulatory agencies to meet their examination requirement. Compliance with state regulatory requirements Is mandatory and the only avenue to legal athletic training practice. The State of California does not regulate the practice of athletic training at this time.
By virtue of CAATE accreditation, ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å's athletic training programs offer a curriculum necessary to meet these regulatory requirements. It is the individual graduate's responsibility to apply for, complete and pass the BOC examination either in their final term of the AT program or after graduation. Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å Program in Nursing prepares students to practice in a field with professional licensure or certification available. However, specific licensure and certification requirements will vary by state.
The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing. The Nursing (B.S.N.) program will meet the educational eligibility criteria for the National Council for Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) for obtaining a license to practice as a registered nurse in Florida. By virtue of CCNE accreditation, the nursing program offers a curriculum necessary for licensure in all 50 states. It is the individual graduate's responsibility to apply, complete and pass the NCLEX-RN licensure exam after graduation. However, other states may have additional requirements to obtain state licensure. It is the individual graduate's responsibility to apply for state licensure and meet other requirements for the state in which they choose to practice as a registered nurse.
Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Information:
As Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), nurses with a RN license in the state of Florida may additionally apply for a compact license to be eligible to practice in other NLC states without obtaining additional licenses for those states: AL, AZ, AR, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MO, MT, NE, NJ, NM, NC, ND, OK, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å, VA,Ìý VT, WA, WV, WI, and WY.

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master’s degree program in nursing,Ìýthe Doctor of Nursing Practice program and the post-graduate APRN certificate programs at ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, .ÌýBy virtue of CCNE accreditation, the MSN and PMC nursing program offers a curriculum necessary for eligibility to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and/or theÌý American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB)Ìýnational certification exams for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) in all 50 states.
MSN FNP and AGPCNP graduates must successfully complete a national certification examination to be eligible for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Florida. It is the individual graduate's responsibility to apply for the national certification exam, if required by a state's advance practice licensure regulations and meet all requirements for the state in which they choose to practice as an APRN.
TheÌýCollege of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and EducationÌýat the University of Tampa offers a variety of educator preparation programs that lead to professional licensure in the state of Florida. The programs listed below to are approved by the Florida Department of Education and lead to initial licensure. All Florida teacher preparation programs must provide ESOL training as part of elementary and secondary education. Undergraduate and graduate programs that lead to initial licensure are also nationally accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
