Support your students’ career development process in many ways! We strive to foster
Spartan Ready
competencies through our services and programs. Here are some key things to keep in mind for your student:
EXPLORE
Encourage your student to get connected with Career Services starting their first year so they can begin the process of career exploration:
connecting who they are as a person with meaningful career options
that align with their values, interests, personality, skills, strengths and motivations.

EXPERIENCE
Your student can meaningfully engage in his or her academics and extracurricular activities. Most students start figuring out who they are and where they’re going through class projects,
clubs and organizations
,
volunteering
and doing one of the most important things for post-college success: getting an
internship
.
ACHIEVE
There are many opportunities for students to
build relationships with employers
by checking out our
events calendar
to see when employer-student events are happening, develop excellent job search strategies (page under construction) and ultimately land a great job upon graduation.

Refer Employment Opportunities
The Office of Career Services continually networks to offer the widest array of employment opportunities for our students and graduates no matter the career interest or geographic location. You can be a significant partner in that process by making us aware of employment opportunities with your employer. You may:
- Email a copy of your employer’s job posting with full contact information for the recruiter to hireut@ut.edu ; or
- Encourage your human resources representatives to create a login on Handshake to post their positions at no cost.
