绿奴天花板 Physician Assistant Medicine
The program graduate competencies represent the knowledge, interpersonal, procedural skills, professional behaviors, clinical reasoning and problem-solving abilities required for graduation from the 绿奴天花板 PA program.
The competencies were informed by the PAEA 鈥淐ore Competencies for New Physician Graduates.鈥 This is a guidance document for PA curriculum developers and educators that combines knowledge, skills and abilities associated with the recognized competencies necessary for practice readiness of new PA graduates.
The faculty of 绿奴天花板鈥檚 PA program review, revise and approve the program competencies annually. This process ensures that the competencies are representative of current standards of medical care and education and are reflective of the PA program鈥檚 mission and goals.

| Domain: Patient-Centered Practice Knowledge (PCPK) Graduates will be able to recognize healthy versus ill patients in the context of the patients鈥 lives and determine the stage of illness 鈥 acute, at risk of illness (emerging), or chronic. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to utilize up-to-date scientific evidence to inform clinical reasoning and clinical judgment |

| PCPK 1- Recognize normal and abnormal health states. |
| PCPK 2- Discern between acute, chronic, and emerging disease states. |
| PCPK 3- Successfully complete a patient-centered medical history. |
| PCPK 4- Competently perform a pertinent physical exam. |
| PCPK 5- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory, radiologic, and other diagnostic studies. |
| PCPK 6- Demonstrate higher-order critical thinking and medical decision-making skills to develop a comprehensive list of differential diagnosis and correctly identify the final diagnosis. |
| PCPK 7- Using evidence-based medicine and/or clinical practice guidelines, formulate an appropriate management/treatment plan. |

| Domain: Society and Population Health (SPH) Graduates will be able to recognize and understand that the influences of the larger community may affect the health of patients and integrate knowledge of social determinants of health into care decisions. |

| SPH 1- Recognize the impact of cultural norms and population-level determinants (socioeconomic, environmental, etc.) on the health of individuals and communities being served. |
| SPH 2- Identify the effect of basic science (biology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and genetics) on patient health, integrating this knowledge into informed care decisions. |
| SPH 3- Describe the role of healthcare disparities in causing illness. |
| SPH 4- Reflect on personal and professional limitations in providing care. |
| SPH 5- Apply the fundamental principles of epidemiology. |

| Domain: Health Literacy and Communication (HLC) Graduates will be able to communicate with patients as partners who engage in shared decision-making and who communicate, interpret, and express themselves as individuals with unique personal, cultural, and social values. |

| HLC 1- Establish culturally appropriate therapeutic relationships to communicate effectively. |
| HLC 2- Effectively communicate information to patients, families, community members, and healthcare team members clearly and concisely, using feedback to confirm understanding. |
| Domain: Interprofessional Collaborative Practice and Leadership Graduates will be able to recognize that the patient is at the center of all healthcare decisions and to partner with the patient to define the patient鈥檚 healthcare goals. |

| ICPL 1- Recognize when referrals are needed and make them to the appropriate health care provider. |
| ICPL 2- Develop and maintain respectful relationships with healthcare team members by actively contributing to shared decision-making and open communication, fostering a collaborative environment. |

| Domain: Professional and Legal Aspects of Health Care Graduates will be able to practice medicine kindly, recognizing and adhering to standards of care while attuned to advancing social justice. |

| PLAHC 1- Demonstrate receptiveness to feedback by acknowledging errors and actively engaging in opportunities for improvement. |
| PLAHC 2- Explain the principles of informed consent and demonstrate respect for patient privacy and autonomy in all aspects of care. |
| PLAHC 3- Demonstrate the professionalism expected of a medical provider by: dressing professionally, wearing an appropriate name tag, washing hands, respecting patient modesty, asking permission to examine the patient, communicating in a polite tone and manner, and conveying concern/compassion. |
| PLAHC 4- Identify strategies to avoid provider burnout and maintain well-being. |
| Domain: Health Care Finance and Systems Graduates will be able to articulate the essential aspects of value-based health care and apply this understanding to the delivery of safe and quality care. |

| HCFS 2- Articulate individual providers鈥 value-add to the health care team regarding cost. |
