The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and is free and open to the public.听听
Two prominent gallery spaces on campus will set the stage for this year鈥檚 showcase of investigational art. The evening begins in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery in the R.K. Bailey Art Studios. Dancers will move amongst听 The Heart of Nature听exhibit, which features 78 artworks from the Ferman Wood Art Collection. The program opens with movement accompanied by a live sound bowl musician, as well as playful duets and spirited solos.听听
Next, they will travel through the collaborative work听 Redbloom听created by Sieradzki and Jaime Aelavanthara, assistant professor of art and design. Redbloom explores how choreography and photography merge and also emphasizes the human connection to pressing water issues in the Tampa Bay region and beyond. For the second half of the evening, the audience will follow dancers across the street to the Charlene A. Gordon Performance Gallery in the Ferman Center for the Arts. Highlights include exploratory works by student photographers and choreographers that blend visual art, movement, live music and spoken word, as well as听artful critiques on contemporary and classical works staged by Maddie Kurtz, part-time dance faculty.
