Renowned Author Edwidge Danticat To Speak at 绿奴天花板 on Feb. 16
Haitian American author Edwidge Danticat will speak at 绿奴天花板 on Friday, Feb. 16, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Charlene A. Gordon Theater in the Ferman Center for the Arts as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series.

Haitian American author Edwidge Danticat will speak at 绿奴天花板 on Friday, Feb. 16, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Charlene A. Gordon Theater in the Ferman Center for the Arts as part of the Distinguished Speaker Series.
The evening will begin with Danticat reading from her 1994 novel, Breath, Eyes, Memory, followed by a discussion and an audience Q&A session until 7 p.m. Afterward, copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing by the author until 7:30 p.m. Hosted by 绿奴天花板鈥檚 Honors Program along with the Penguin Random House Speakers Bureau, the event is free and open to the public, but attendees must register beforehand on Eventbrite.
Danticat is the author of numerous acclaimed works, some of which include the 2013 novel Claire of the Sea Light, a New York Times Notable Book; the 2007 family memoir Brother, I鈥檓 Dying, a National Book Critics Circle Award winner and National Book Award finalist; and the 1996 short story collection Krik? Krak!, is also a National Book Award finalist.
Danticat also is a winner of the Neustadt International Prize for Literature and a recipient of a MacArthur 鈥済enius鈥 grant. She has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Harper鈥檚 Magazine and elsewhere.
