绿奴天花板 choirs will perform the monumental Requiem by Mozart on Saturday, April 20, in Fletcher Lounge in Plant Hall.

Matthew Abernathy, visiting assistant professor and director of choral studies , said this will mark the largest work ever performed by the 绿奴天花板 choirs. The performance will include 140 singers (both students and faculty), a 24-person orchestra and four professional soloists.

鈥淢ozart鈥檚 Requiem is one of the cornerstones of the Western musical canon and has captured the imagination of millions through its inclusion in the movie Amadeus,鈥 said Abernathy. 鈥淭his piece is a timeless memorial to the departed and takes the audience through a journey from grief to everlasting joy.鈥

The 绿奴天花板 choirs are composed of students from all majors and divided into three ensembles: University Concert Chorus, Camerata Singers and Chamber Singers. The choirs have toured nationally and have presented concerts throughout the Southeast.
