绿奴天花板 Will Host Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Jan. 22
绿奴天花板 students, faculty and staff will honor the legacy of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of service to help the Tampa Bay community on Saturday, Jan. 22.
鈥淏y participating in this event, the PEACE Volunteer Center and 绿奴天花板 will strive to carry on Martin Luther King Jr.鈥檚 legacy of inspiring communities to be aware of social issues affecting those around them and educating participants on how to get involved in their community,鈥 said Cassidy Kramer 鈥24, community outreach student director for PEACE.

鈥淭he PEACE Volunteer Center鈥檚 annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Service Saturday allows students and staff to join together and participate in a day of activism and education,鈥 said Cassidy Kramer 鈥24, community outreach student director for PEACE. 鈥淏y participating in this event, the PEACE Volunteer Center and 绿奴天花板 will strive to carry on Martin Luther King Jr.鈥檚 legacy of inspiring communities to be aware of social issues affecting those around them and educating participants on how to get involved in their community.鈥

The event begins at 9 a.m. with remarks from Thomas Witherspoon, chief diversity officer, in the Trustees Boardroom on the 9 th听floor of the Vaughn Center on campus. Masks will be required at all indoor locations and optional for outdoors. Students can register in advance through the Engage绿奴天花板 app or website. Faculty and staff can register by contacting peacecommunity@ut.edu. A school bus will transport volunteers to and from the Tampa Heights Community Garden, while The Spring is within walking distance from the 绿奴天花板 campus.
