1. Where do new students go to check in?听触听Back to top.
New students who will be living on campus will check in at their residence hall during their assigned appointment day and time. Commuter students will check in on the second floor of the Vaughn Center in the Spartan Card Office. New residential student move-in will take place Jan. 17. The听Office of Residence Life听will share additional information regarding room assignments and how to sign up for a move-in appointment. Commuter students are expected to check-in January 13-17, 9 a.m.- 5p.m.听

International students must complete and submit the New International Student Check-In Request, via the Request and Document Center of your ISSS Portal app in My绿奴天花板ampa.听You may begin this anytime but will not be able to submit it until after you have been issued the 绿奴天花板 I-20 and you have arrived in the U.S. Visit the听New International Student Orientation听page for more information on your pre-arrival and orientation dates.

Please only plan to move in during your assigned date and time. The earliest date students are permitted to move onto campus is Jan. 17 (unless you are a new international student).听

To find out which residence hall you will live in for the semester, please log onto your Residence by Symplicity account.

There will be signs pointing to the designated buildings, as well as student helpers around campus to direct students, families and guests to our parking areas. You can also reference the听move-in maps.
Students, families and guests are not permitted to bring moving trucks or box trucks onto campus.听

Students will receive the keys to their room when they check into their residence hall.

To find out who your roommates will be, please log onto Residence by Simplicity through听My绿奴天花板ampa听after you have received your housing assignment.

Week of Welcome (WOW!) is designed specifically to help our new students as they transition to the University and we are excited to welcome our new Spartans to campus! The Spring 2025 Week of Welcome will take place from Friday, Jan. 17- Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Our Week of Welcome schedule is made available through the Guidebook app. This interactive app allows you to set your own schedule, view Tampa weather, find important campus contact information, receive event changes in real time and more!

Week of Welcome听participation is highly encouraged throughout the duration of the program. The information presented will greatly aid students throughout their collegiate careers and the opportunity to connect with fellow students is important for new students on campus.

The online orientation program is designed to take approximately 60 minutes to complete. Students can elect to complete the seven modules all at one time or each module separately.听

Parents and family members are not permitted to attend Week of Welcome events with the student.听

Residential first-year students are not permitted to have a vehicle registered on campus. This policy does not apply to first-year students who live off-campus and commute to the University or students who have completed their first academic year at a different institution.

To register your bike, please visit the听Campus Safety听webpage. You may also register in person at the Campus Safety Office, located in the Innovation and Collaboration Building, first floor 鈥 you will need your bike information including the serial number.

绿奴天花板 accepts Visa, MasterCard or Discover for tuition payments completed online. Log onto your Workday account and view Bill and Payment Information and Payment Options for more information.

Financial clearance can be found on the student鈥檚 Workday account. Once you log into Workday click on the 鈥淔inances鈥 tab then select 鈥淏ursar鈥檚 Office鈥 and from there click on 鈥淢y Account Balances鈥 link. If you do not see any amount due you are financially cleared. Students can also contact Financial Aid at (813) 253-6219 or听finaid@ut.edu.

Residential students have three to four choices for their meal plans depending on what residence hall they live in.
The Carte Blanche = Unlimited meals with unlimited seconds at The Ultimate
Dining Cafe plus = $75 Spartan Dollars per semester and up to three meal exchanges a week
The Favorite = 15 meals a week with unlimited seconds at The Ultimate Dining Cafe, plus $100 Spartan Dollars per semester with up to 15 meal exchanges a week from defined combo meals
The Ultimate = 12 meals a week with unlimited seconds at The Ultimate Dining Cafe, plus $150 Spartan Dollars per semester with up to 12 meal exchanges a week from defined combo meals
The Express = seven meals a week with unlimited seconds at The Ultimate Dining Cafe, plus $75 Spartan Dollars per semester with up to seven meal exchanges a week from defined combo meals

To declare or change a major, students may access the form via Workday once the semester begins. Instructions for these forms, and others, can be found听on the Academic Forms page. Students who have not started their first semester must email their assigned academic advisor to make any changes.听

First-year students will be assigned an advisor when schedules become available. The contact information for their advisors will be posted in Workday and students have the chance to communicate with them before school starts.
24. How do I register for classes?听触听Back to top.听听
绿奴天花板 academic advisors create the initial base schedules for all incoming students to ensure students are properly placed in classes according to the requirements for their selected majors, the Spartan Studies (common core) curriculum and other academic areas of interest. Advisors are especially careful to take into account prerequisite sequencing and the timing of future course offerings to help facilitate timely degree completion. The freshman preference form provides the student the opportunity to provide feedback related to scheduling. Students should carefully complete the entire form by providing accurate information with the understanding the information will be used to select classes for their first semester of enrollment.听Course schedules for incoming first-year students will be finalized and posted on the student鈥檚 Workday.
25. What is the add/drop period?听触听Back to top.听听
The add/drop period is听during听the first听week听of each fall and spring semester. During that period, students may change their schedules. Any adding must be completed by the end of the period, and if you听withdraw from听a class after the end of the period, you will receive a grade of 鈥淲鈥, indicating you withdrew from the class. Separate add/drop periods apply for summer and seven-week sessions.

狈别飞听students鈥 immunization forms听are due to the听Health Center听no later than July 1, for the fall semester. Students can submit their forms by mail or online through the听.

Full-time undergraduate and international students pay a health care fee that provides the student with a premium policy for a student injury and sickness insurance plan through United Health Care Student Resources.

绿奴天花板 has more than 200 organizations and clubs to offer. To find out more about them and see which one you might be interested in, check out the听Student Organizations听辫补驳别.听

Information for your mailbox can be found on the student鈥檚 Workday account. Once you log into your Workday account, hover over your photo and select View Profile followed by Contact. This will lead you to your mailbox assignment and address format for shipping.

Transfer students should review the CollegeTransfer.Net Equivalency Widget located at听/admissions/transfer-admissions/transfer-credits-to-ut. Students who have access to Workday can follow the steps below to view transfer credit results:

First-year students and transfer students who will commute to 绿奴天花板 must still complete the online orientation program prior to the start of the semester. Commuter students are strongly encouraged to participate in Week of Welcome events just like residential first-year and transfer students.

35. When will I be able to see my schedule on Workday?听Back to top.听听
Students entering Spring 2025 will be able to see their schedules in December. If you see the message 鈥渟chedule under construction鈥 on the schedule, you will know that it is not yet final. In fact, no schedule is absolutely final until classes begin and the add/drop period has ended. You should view and print the schedule from Workday the night before classes begin as room assignments/instructors may change on occasion.
36. Once the schedule is made, can changes be requested prior to new students鈥 arrival on campus?听触听Back to top.
Based on the completed preference form, Advising staff should have an idea of any coursework that may be coming in for credit. If, however, a student believes he/she has been scheduled in a course for which credit has already been earned, then a change request is warranted. The Admissions counselors can assist with direction if a student has questions about a possible schedule change prior to arrival on campus. After base schedules are visible in Workday, students can email their assigned academic advisor with questions or schedule change requests, which will be reviewed in the order received.听

Whether you are a first-year student or a transfer student, you do not need to register to attend Week of Welcome.

New Student Convocation will give students the opportunity to meet the dean and faculty members from their college of study. During this meeting, you will learn more about your major, what faculty expect of you during your time at 绿奴天花板 and resources available to help you succeed while at 绿奴天花板. This session is required for all FALL incoming students.听
