Spartans Abroad

University of Tampa students in all majors have the opportunity to build their credentials through an education abroad program. Today’s employers seek graduates who can communicate in at least one foreign language, have multicultural knowledge, possess skills and training in negotiating with people of different cultures, and have the basic skills to travel and work outside of the United States. All Spartans participating in international programming, whether credit-bearing or not, must work with the Office of International Programs, meet minimum requirements and abide by published deadlines. Policies apply to both ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°åampa-sponsored and affiliated education abroad programming. More information on transferring credit can be found in the .

Before studying abroad students must have successfully completed 12 ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°åampa credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5

Where to Begin

The first stepÌýin the process is to attend anÌýapplication workshopÌýto learn about the basics of education abroad. This workshop is mandatory if you plan to meet with an Education Abroad Advisor.

The second stepÌýis to visit theÌýÌýto search for study abroad programs and begin an application!

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays:Ìý2-4 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 9-10 a.m.

If you need more than 10-15 minutes with our Education Abroad Advisor, then you must schedule an appointment instead of doing a walk-in.

Do not email advising appointment requests. Appointments can only be made via phone call or by visiting Grand Center 103.

Education Abroad Advising is only required for students applying to Exchange Programs, however this service is available to all study abroad students.

Please note:

  • Appointments can be booked up to two weeks in advance and no less than 24 hours before the scheduled time.
  • Appointments can only be scheduled after you have attended an application workshop*

*If you cannot attend an application workshop due to scheduling conflicts, please schedule an appointment with the Education Abroad Advisor after you have either selected your study abroad program or narrowed down your list to a few programs of interest.

Peer Advising Hours

No appointment is required. If you anticipate needing more than 15 minutes to meet with the peer advisor, please schedule an appointment with an Education Abroad Advisor instead.
