Admission to the program requires a baccalaureate degree; a related degree is preferred, such asÌýhealth scienceÌýor nutrition.

Yes. Students can apply prior to completing prerequisite courses. If admitted; your academic advisor will notify you of any outstanding prerequisites and your options for completing them.
3. What are the prerequisite courses for the ENS program?Ìý|ÌýBack to top.
Students must complete the following courses or their equivalents prior to starting graduate courses:
- Basic nutrition course or equivalent
- Anatomy and physiology
- Exercise testing and prescription course or equivalent
- Exercise physiology course or equivalent
- Statistics course or equivalent
We do not recommend that you sign up for any of these classes prior to being accepted into the program and talking to your advisor, but if you plan on taking these prerequisites before applying, be sure to complete them at a regionally accredited school.

Students areÌýadmittedÌýon a rolling basis for the M.S. in Exercise and Nutrition Science program, meaning that an application is sent for review after all documents have been submitted.
Because there are a limited number of seats each semester, students shouldÌýapply early. Once your application is complete, students can expect a decision within three to four weeks.

There is oneÌýgraduate assistantshipÌý(GA) awarded each fall semester. Students who are interested in applying must be fully admitted to the ENS program (that is, all of the prerequisites must be completed) by the time the GA application opens: typically mid-April. If selected, the department will contact the student directly.

The following documents are required to process your application:
- $40 non-refundable application fee
- Official transcripts from each university or college attended; must show a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- TwoÌýprofessional reference forms (PDF)Ìýcompleted by individuals that attest to your professional background and academic potential

There is a minimum 3.0 GPA requirement. However, the average GPA is 3.5.

This is a hybrid program, meaning half of the coursework is online and the other half is in class. Go toÌýM.S.-ENSÌýand scroll to the bottom, where you will see a flowchart showing which courses are considered hybrid. Courses are offered in all semesters: fall, winter intersession, spring, May term, summer I and summer II. You may take a maximum of 9 credit hours per semester.

There are many practicum options. You can have a practicum experience on campus with one of ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å's athletic teams, and ÂÌÅ«Ì컨°å has relationships with Tampa General Hospital, various sports teams in the area and many fitness facilities. Students are also permitted to secure their own practicum opportunities.
17. How much does the program cost?Ìý|ÌýBack to top.
Tuition is currently $655/credit hour for the 2020-2021 academic year. With 33 total credit hours for the program, the total tuition cost is approximately $21,615.
